Marks & Spencer

We are grateful to staff at Our

in Halifax

for choosing us as their Charity of the Year.

Our First Bag packing was on 30th April 2016

Who was our first volunteer to offer her help?

The Calderdale Mayor, Councillor Lisa Lambert,

her busy schedule.

A spectacular voice, from such a young lady.

Meet  "Tickles"

Saturday 2nd July.

Thanks must go to Narelle , for bringing her Rock Choir to Marks & Spencer,

Halifax today.

Tracy, an employee of M & S, suggested they sing in The Woolshops and we

were there to offer to take people's loose change off their hands.

After a few heavy showers all morning, they picked their time well and were

very fortunate not to get soaked.

Well done to Narelle, for keeping smiling throughout!

And thank you ALL for doing this for us!

We have a month off in September as all M&S branches throughout the UK are helping Macmillan Cancer Support, as they have done annually since 2010.

This September, M&S customers will be able to indulge in coffee and cake in M&S cafes, pick up selected M&S foodie goodies or purchase some of the limited-edition homeware, and know that they are making a donation to Macmillan Cancer Support.

We thank M&S Halifax as they have asked to us to regularly come into the store from October leading up to Christmas, bag packing and selling raffle tickets in store.
The draw will be made on Saturday 17th December at 4pm.
Tickets are £2 each and available from our information point whenever we are in store.
These dates include:

Friday       21st October
Saturday     5th November
Friday        18th November
Tuesday      6th December
Friday        9th December
Wednesday  14th December
Friday      16th December
Saturday    17th December
Thursday    22nd December

Anybody wishing to volunteer for bag packing on most of these dates, will be very welcome.

The Rock Choir are singing in the Woolshops on Saturday 10th December, timings are still not confirmed.
We believe it will be 10.30 - 1pm (with a few breaks)
We will be there to listen to the fantastic choir and help with the collection.

December 10th
The Rock Choir pull out all stops to ensure the Halifax shoppers,  outside M& S, gave their loose change (and more)
Thank you Narelle and the Rock Choir. We collected £300 in an hour!!

After a very busy December, we decided to give it a rest in Januar

We had 6 bag packs during December and of course the Grand Raffle.

The profit from the raffle tickets was just over £2750,

(with prizes and expenses totalling only £400 due to M & S donating 2 prizes)

We would like to thank all our volunteers for their help bag packing and selling the tickets.

Martin & Clarence did an excellent job, in store, selling raffle tickets.

I am pleased to tell you our balance now stands at £12,500
with 2 bag packing days to go before our Charity of the Year status ends.

Marks & Spencer's Commercial Manager, Helen Rooke,

draws the winning ticket in our Valentine's Draw,

with Martin Heathcote who gave up a couple of hours

of his free time to quadruple our sales today,

such is his charisma. (Cheekiness!!)

 Winning number 460

Thanks to all M & S customers for their generosity!

On behalf of all our members we would like to thank:

  • The generous Halifax  M & S Shoppers

The friendly M & S Staff

Our wonderful volunteers, particulary family & friends who
soon realised that most people with Parkinson's are
unable to pack their own shopping bags,
let alone pack somebody else's.

Many thanks to all concerned.
Without you, all, we could not have done it!
